Gov. Alia to set a Football academy in Benue state

The executive Governor of Benue state,Dr. Hyacinth I Alia released a viable information to address sports issues in the state.

This gesture was noted on his congratulatory visit to the Nigerian Football team, super Eagles .

In his speech :

Yesterday, I met with our very own Nigerian professional footballer, Moses Simon, who plays for Ligue 1 club Nantes, and the Nigeria national team to congratulate him and the entire Super Eagles for their wonderful performance at the just concluded African Cup of Nations.

It was also a great opportunity to discuss the possibility of having a football academy in Benue State.

By harnessing the power of sports, particularly football, we aim to not only nurture talent but also cultivate a spirit of unity and collaboration amongst our youth.

Furthermore, the establishment of a football academy holds the promise of generating economic opportunities, empowering our youth, and showcasing the rich sporting potential inherent within our dear state.

Recall, the event that took place on the 10th of January where we donated four vehicles to Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi to address their transportation challenges.

Additionally, we’ve approved the payment of match bonuses to further motivate and support their outstanding performance so far.

Together, we will continue to promote sports in Benue State

I am committed to supporting initiatives that promote talent development, community engagement, and economic prosperity.

Together, let us embark on this journey to harness the transformative power of football for the betterment of our beloved state.

I would like to thank Simon for presenting a special jersey to me on behalf of the entire team “

The Benue people are set to welcome this new development in the state.

Long live Fr Alia
