Durban police have shot and killed four wanted suspects allegedly implicated in a string of violent crimes during a shootout in Umlazi on Tuesday.
Umlazi Detectives and Durban Public Order Police reacted to a tip-off that the suspects, wanted for murder and armed robbery, were all hiding in a house at G-Section in Umlazi.
Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said on arrival, police surrounded the premises, announced they were outside, and requested that the door to the house be opened. However, the suspects opened fire.
